music: the Dillinger Escape Plan-Fix Your Face
Seeing as i probably can't celebrate my birthday on my birthday this year (with the move and all) i've been considering ways to treat myself. And I think today, I got it. i'm going follow the Dillinger Escape Plan's Tour for 4 days. I already have a ticket to see them here but i'm thinking of going out to some/all of these following dates.

IRE WORKS TOUR 2007 THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN/A LIFE ONCE LOST/GENGHIS TRON/BEHOLD..THE ARCTOPUS

10/25: The Middle East in Cambridge, MA.
10/26: Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ
10/27: First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia, PA
and of course i'd end up back here for the
10/28 show at The Blender Theater.

My friend Mike and I were talking to Greg (singer) after one of they're last shows and he was telling us how it blows his mind that we're at like, nearly every single NYC area show and Mike said "We're like Dead Heads, except we don't listen to crappy music!" and i think this would be the way to prove him right.

So the question is, would anyone want to go to one/some/all of these with me?! I figure it would be boring to sight see durring the day by myself. MA is up in the air but i'm like, 95% sure that i can do NJ and PA. It's gonna be fun!

Those of you who have been to my house before might have noticed a picture of a German Shepard on the mantle our living room. In a box under that picture is a tin that contains the ashes of my dog, Winston and pictures of family. Lilly is the German Shepard in the picture and today, probably only 3 or 4 hours ago, my aunt and uncle had to put her down.
Lilly was like a 2nd child to them (My cousin Mac is 31 now)which also pretty much made her my cousin. But she recently developed a case of terminal cancer and they didn't want her to suffer.
Ok, so aunt Loraine and uncle Mike aren't really my aunt and uncle, but my mom calls them that because they're very very close. And man, we all loved that dog. I guess it's sort of positive that the only family i've lost in the last couple of years is a dog, but she was family none the less. R.I.P. Lilly.

What can i say that hasn't already been said? Not much. I saw Sonic Youth perform
"Daydream Nation" on Saturday and i can safely say It was in my top 10 possibly 5 best live shows EVER! I don't think i ever need to see them again because i don't think i could get better (but i know i will!)

I had some people here and it went well. I fell asleep at like, 2:30 on the couch and woke up again at 4. I was out of it. Die Hard 2 was on. Not a bad thing to wake up to.

Paper Cities are playing 2 shows (so far next month) Aug 13th, at the Knitting Factory with The Brooklyn What, The Saudi Agenda and The Delaware Stringasm. Everyone knows each show needs at least one band that doesn't have a "The" in the title. We're just fillin the Quota. We're also playing at The Lit Lounge on the 22nd. Come to one or both of these shows to see us in a real venue!

Baby METALLICA Allowed To Keep Her Name - Apr. 19, 2007

James Savage of The Local reports that Metallica Tomaro (Photo#1, Photo#2, Photo#3, Photo#4), a seven-month-old girl from western Sweden, will be allowed to keep her unusual name after authorities withdrew their objections.

Young Metallica's battle has attracted attention from around the world, and has prevented the family from travelling — the youngster has been unable to get a passport before the dispute was solved.

"It feels good," Metallica's mother told Göteborgs-Posten on Thursday (April 19).

The row started when the Swedish Tax Board ruled that METALLICA was not appropriate as a name. Officials objected both on the grounds that it is the name of a heavy metal band and that it is too closely related to the word 'metal'.

The girl's mother, Karolina Tomaro, took the case to the County Court, where she secured a victory over the tax authority. Officials then vowed to appeal the decision. On Thursday, however, the tax board said it was dropping its appeal, allowing young Metallica to keep her name.

The media attention given to the battle has led to Tomaro, from Kungälv, near Gothenburg, receiving support from people around the world.

"Several people suggested I should move to where they live, because then our daughter wouldn't have any problem in being named Metallica," she told Göteborgs-Posten.

Ooooh livejournal. Whats new? Let's seee... a few weeks ago Paper Cities finished our first album. The mixing process should be done by the end of this week god willing. We're looking for a place to get the cd pressed and a way to find money to do so. I think we should have a bake sale!

This week i started work with the Tribeca Film Festival. It's pretty exciting when the phones are actually ringing. I 4 call is the course of 5 and a half hours yesterday. they offered us the opertunity to leave early but i figured i was basicly getting paid to surf the net and check my e-mail over and over again so i opted to say.

Speaking of movies, the best film ever comes out in like, 3 weeks; SPIDERMAN 3!!!! I'm planing to attend a may 3rd midnight showing at the battery park theater and maybe one or two others the next day. tickets went on sale friday and i'm gona get some soon, anyone in?!

I love when bands i like share the same feelings as me about over rated musicians. Here is what Barry from Mogwai has to say to Keith Richards;

"Keith please cease breathing.
Keith please die.

Hi everyone. I just woke up to find that average blues guitar peddlar and all round unlikeable London pirate-like arsehole Keith Richard snorted his dad's ashes on a drug binge. Well done Keith, you talentless publicity hungry horrible prick of the highest order. He then goes on to say modern bands are a load of old crap. Right, but can we really listen to the opinions of a nasal cannibal?

Keith, your band are possibly the worst band in the history of human events, worse even than Placebo and The Reynolds Girls combined. Your posh English singer sings with an American accent about a load of old American prostitutes he met once and your guitar licks are Grade F. The sooner you die the quicker my Ladbrokes bet comes in between you and McCartney you old dick. I hope you kick the bucket in the most humiliating of ways, like on the toilet and then being eaten by your own dog. Stop living and give us peace you attention seeking non relevant oxygen thief.

Barry"

that tickles my fancy. I'm done rambeling. tata 4 now.

Barely.. I've been sick all fucking week. I'm willing to bet i got it form that abandoned glass of beer i chugged down in 3 gulps at freddy's on st. pat's! I guess that's the risk of stealing beer. Speaking of St. Pat's at Freddys, It wasn't bad. I sabotaged myself by not bringing my bank card thus not having a dime to drink with. Yelena was kind enough to buy me a beer, Dan and i split a pbr, and I sipped and stole the rest from people who left they're tables.
This awesome band played, they're shtick was that you gave them the name of a song, and a genre and they wrote a song on the spot. Brilliant if you ask me.

Like i said, i've been sick all week. i've been feverish and hackin up all kinds of fun things. I feel a lot better now. I haven't been to work all week, but i have been to 2 shows (i've got my priorities straight thank you very much!) I saw Explosions In The Sky for the 5th time on Tuesday. I can't say anything about them that i haven't said before, one of the best bands you could see live.

However, i just got home for seeing By The End of Tonight, who i think automaticly have jumped onto maybe my top 10 best live bands list. These guys are NUTS! they're another instrumental band from Texas, but they're a lot heavier. Sorta Explosions meets Hella and Dillinger. they played at the Cake Shop, and it was intense! jumping, screaming, spitting, kicking, flailing, bleeding, moshing, jogging, pushing, breaking stuff; these are the words that i would use to describe the BAND, not the crowed! I talked to one of they're guitarists after the show and told him how much i liked his band and gave him the whole "i'm in an instrumental band too!" spheel, which i'm sure he hasn't heard a million times. to make a long story short, he said they're playing here 2 more times in the next 3 months or so and there's a slim to shit chance Paper Cities may get to play with em!! connections baby, i'm makin' em!

Well thats my life. I gotta get to sleep for now. I have an interview tomorrow that will hopefully lead to me working for the Tribeca Film Festival for the next few months! WISH ME LUCK!
P.S. Notice how no one actually writes in this thing anymore? See you on the facebook!

And all that other crap. I haven't written in this thing in quite a while, either my life is boring, or you've been there with me (probably both)

Ahh, another year another valentines day.. and I'm still alone, what a suprise.. If i'm alone next year maybe i'll just go gay or something. The good news is, I didn't drink to remedy this problem. The bad news, i didn't drink to remedy this problem! And it snowed.

The night before however i found this awesome restaurant on cortelyu road called The Farm, and it was amazing. I had a huge steak, and a bottle of 3 philosophers which i finished myself! The beer selection RULES!! Upon my ordering the three philosophers, the bar tended informed me of the beer and cheese tasting they're hosting on the 21st! $20, 5 great beers and cheese's! Anyone?!

Let's see... other news... incase anyone you don't have a myspace, paper cities (my band) has 3 songs up. they're not quite done, but man did we really want people to hear em! so check it out (www.myspace.com/papercities)

Anybody wana see Ghost Rider tomorrow with Doug, James and i? I'm sure it's going to suck royal ass but man, i'm loyal to comic book movies, especially ones about characters i used to love.

Hey Everyone!

Wow, I miss you guys! I haven't seen anyone in about 2 weeks, which is an eternity for me. I've been busy working/recording. We have 5 songs done! 2 more to go! The album will probably see completion sometime next month, seeing as Andrew goes back to school over the weekend.

It's been an insane process full of laughter, stress, sweat, and blood but we are so proud to finally have quality recording of our songs! Andrew lost a whole day's worth of work the other day when his puter crashed, but it turned out ok, cuz the next day we did the song even better with less punch-in's.

In the day's i haven't been recording i've been working. Yesterday I worked from 10 AM till 10 PM on the top floor of 7 World Trade. The view was pretty amazing. As was the snow.

I'm at work right now but tonight i finally get to chillax, and see Mission of Burma! 1st concert experience of 2007!

So the reason i write this is, i wana see you people! That's all i'm trying to say.

Happy New Year Guys.

1st post of 2007. I've got nothing to say. Just wanted to see if anyone wants to see The Arcade Fire on one of the 5 dates they're playing?! Ticket go on sale Friday and are only available on tickets.com. so if anyone wants me to get a ticket i'll need cash upfront.

Also will someone please see Explosions In The Sky with me?! The show at Webster in February is sold out but they're playing again pretty much a month later at Webster Hall and i just got my ticket. Webster will be the 5th time I've seen them... alone. Someone come with me!
